Attendance Method

One class can be set to use a different Method. A code on a wall can be photographed and a phone can be anywhere, so what shows where a device was is the Location Check, never the Method.

What a student uses to sign an in-person Attendance Sheet.

Location Check

A position from a phone can be faked, so treat it as evidence and never as proof. A student whose device reports no position is never refused a sign-in.

Whether the app asks a student’s device for its position at sign-in.

COMPARED WITH DEFAULT TEACHING LOCATION
{{ defaultLine }}
You can change location per class and date in class setup settings.

No Default Location is chosen, so no position is compared with anything yet. Choose one in Locations, or name one on a class.

Teaching Locations

A Location’s radius is how close a device must be for its position to count as inside. Searching, moving the pin and setting the radius all happen in the editor. A Location is never deleted: stopping one keeps every class and date already using it exactly as it is.

Signing in a room

Neither answer makes an in-person session electronic. A fingertip signature is handwritten and legal.

What counts as a mark on a page signed in a room.

How somebody is identified at the StationCompleting an Attendance Sheet copies this answer onto it, so a page filed last year still says how its entries were identified.

This school does not use a Sign-In Station. Change the Attendance Method if that is wrong.

Signing an online session

A class held in a room is signed by hand, and this setting cannot change that.

An online class is signed electronically.

It prints in the footnote of every online sheet, beside the electronic-signature mark.

School Setup

Set once when the school opens and rarely opened again. Everything here prints at the top of every sheet.

What the school is called, and the lines that head every sheet.

Courses and Classes

This setting changes what you are asked, never what is filed.

Whether a course and a class are two things here or one.

People

School-wide answers that every person screen inherits. Changing one never edits a person already added, or a sheet already filed.

What is asked when somebody adds a person, and how names come out on the sheet.

Check-In Window

Changing this moves every class that has not set its own answer. A class that has can keep it.

minutes past the start
Marked Late on the sheet and still counted present. Nothing about the hours changes.

Rounding

The signature keeps the real time either way, and the sheet prints both.

A student who signs at 9:08 is counted from a round minute instead.

Days Off

A day off opens no Attendance Sheet, so nothing is marked absent on it. Every class inherits this calendar and can overrule any entry on its own Schedule step. A day off added after a sheet has opened leaves that sheet exactly as it is.
